Waiting on Wednesday: Demon City

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Jill from Breaking the Spine, and specifically spotlights upcoming novels we can’t wait to read. As always, there are some amazing upcoming books, but this week I’m particularly excited for…

Summary: All Mallory knows of The City is its dangers. She knows her father, a witch, fled it for exile in the human world, and she knows that in order to stay alive she must be able to hide quickly, perceive threats, and become lethal. It’s only a matter of time before she and her father are discovered by demons, and before The City puts to work the plans it has for Mallory…At the heart of The City is the Carnival of Souls, where violence and pleasure are sold in equal measure. Aya and Kaleb soon receive the once-in-a-generation chance to participate in the Carnival’s deadly competition to join the ruling class.

I haven’t read anything by Melissa Marr in a long time, and I hope she’s just as good as I remember. I remember loving the Wicked Lovely series, although I eventually kind of outgrew them as the series went on and never actually finished it. Still, this book definitely sounds like it’s worth a go…
