If You Find Me, I’ll be Waiting on Wednesday…

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Jill from Breaking the Spine, and specifically spotlights upcoming novels we can’t wait to read. As always, there are some amazing upcoming books, but this week I’m particularly excited for…

Trailer tree trash, mentally ill mother, sister who hasn’t spoken for a year, oh my! Okay, so that was kind of a mouthful. I just couldn’t fit all the reasons I’m excited about this book into one sentence. Emily Murdoch’s debut is about a super dysfunctional family. Fifteen-year-old Carey and her sister Janessa have lived in a broken-down camper in the woods with their mentally unsound mother, whose comings and goings are becoming more and more frequent. Found by their estranged father after their mother disappears for good, they are forced to re-enter “normal” life. Can Carey keep their secrets close and keep from their new life from unraveling?

All this secret-keeping sounds like a disaster waiting to happen, but I can’t wait to read about it in March 2013.
