Top Ten Tuesday is an original meme created by the wonderful blog, The Broke and the Bookish, as they are particularly fond of lists over there. All they ask is participants link back to the site to share their lists with fellow bloggers. Check out The Broke and the Bookish for details on this great weekly feature!
This week I’ll be talking about the top ten series I’d like to start but haven’t yet.
1. Divergent – Veronica Roth
I really don’t know why I haven’t started this series. I’ve heard only good things about it, it’s super popular, it’s full of dystopian goodness, and it’s going to be a movie. I seriously need to get on this.
2. Beautiful Creatures – Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl
Again, it’s now a movie. I heard mixed things about these books when they first came out, so I just put them on the backburner, and they’ve literally been there for years. But, the movie looks really good, and I just can’t see a movie based on a book without reading the book first. Plus, I got Beautiful Creatures for super cheap on Kindle a couple months ago, so really, what do I have to lose?
3. Across the Universe – Beth Revis
I bought the first book in the series a while ago and just never got around to it. A lot of my favorite bloggers really like it, so I think I might give it a try in between NetGalley books and debuts.
4. Anna Dressed in Blood – Kendare Blake
I bought this when it was on sale way back in the fall. It sounds interesting enough, so I’ll probably need to give this series a shot at some point, too.
5. Dustlands – Moira Young
I don’t know why I haven’t read this series yet either. It’s another dystopian set that’s gotten really good reviews, and I bought the first one when Rebel Heart came out, so it’s just sitting on my Kindle begging me to read it.
6. Under the Never Sky – Veronica Rossi
I haven’t read this series yet because I was really unsure about the sci-fi aspect of it, but after reading a couple books with a sci-fi tilt, I think it’s something I might really like.
7. Lux – Jennifer L. Armentrout
I’ve heard such great things about this series. Plus, I really want to know who the heck this Daimon guy is that all the blogs are in love with.
8. Hourglass – Myra McEntire
Another book I bought on sale a while back. Plus, I think the third one’s coming out pretty soon.
9. Parasol Protectorate – Gail Carriger
I bought five of these books last summer on a trip to Baltimore and still haven’t read them yet. I really have to be in the right mood for steampunk though, but when it strikes me, at least I won’t have to wait to get the next book for a while.
10. Everneath – Brodi Ashton
This book caught my attention when it first came out. To be honest, I don’t even remember what it was about at this point, I just remember thinking, “Oh hey, I should read this at some point.” So that’s where that’s at.
