This week’s topic? Top ten characters I would crush on if I were also a fictional character (but really, why do I need to be fictional to crush on them? It happens anyway!)

1. Holden Caulfield from The Catcher in the Rye
Holden Caulfield is the love of my life. Sure he’s messed up and a pathological liar. I like my boys with issues.

2. Noah Shaw from the Mara Dyer trilogy
Does he even need an explanation? Noah Shaw is pure perfection. He pushes people into whale tanks and gives children in psych wards lighters. What more could you want?

3. Will from His Dark Materials
A childhood crush that’s never really gone away.

4. Adam from If I Stay
I want Adam to play me like a guitar!

5. Joe from The Sky is Everywhere
He’s such a sweetie pie. How could he not be on this list?

6. John from Hard Love
Sure he’s in love with a gay girl. I don’t care. He’s smart and creative and exactly my type…other than the fact that he’s fictional.

7. Jewel from As I Lay Dying
When I read As I Lay Dying in high school, all the girls in my class crushed on Darl except for me. For whatever reason, I adored Jewel and want him for my own. He’s just the best.

8. Hank from Being Henry David
My love for Hank is boundless. He’s literary, he’s a musician, and he’s super caring. Basically, he’s exactly my type. Plus, I’ll admit that I wanted to kill Hailey throughout the book. Good thing she’s fictional.

9. Kartik from A Great and Terrible Beauty
Another childhood crush. Oh Kartik, why did you have to die?!

10. Conrad from Ordinary People
What can I say? I like my damaged boys.
